I have a 2007 VLX 600, and I need to change the pads. How difficult is it and are there any tricks I need to know to get it done easier?....and help would be appreciated.

Lots of good info and much is related to all bikes.
Thanks a lot Joe for that. I had a 3 year service plan that recently expired, and I am mechanically inclined, but haven't had to work on my bike until now.
Change front pads is easy.. Is 1/2 as hard as on my Jeep and 1/4 as hard as the Wifes car. Undo 2 bolts, slide caliper out, pop pads out and new in, Slide caliper in, put 2 bolt back, Bleed. 15 minutes max. Rear is a completely different story on mine, as it is drum.
One of the best front brake lessons I ever learned is to strap a piece of 2X4 in between the brake lever and the grip so that the lever doesn't accidentally get depressed while the caliper is off as it is very bad to have that happen....don't ask me how I know this.
